A friend of mine's landlord is a bit of a celebrity. I think his name is Russell or something.

The Big Issue seller was known to all before his demise.

And I trust nobody knows that Linford Christie's brother lives on the Blackheath side of Hither Green?

It's him. Definately. He may not have the wheels, but it's the ex baddie from Emmerdale for sure...Though I admit I havent seen him for while....

In today's Guardian there's an interview with Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees where he says he's a survivor of the Hither Green train crash:

I remember that day so well, it was horrible, but every one just rallied around and did whatever they could.

Re: Celebrity spotting in Hither Green..Danny Baker

it's going back a few years since you might have seen Danny Baker on TV, and hopefully he is still about in the area.
Didin't get time to go over and chat to him, but he obviously knew that he had been spotted by his big smile, when I saw him at the Riverdale Centre doing a bit of shopping.

Well, we've all gotta eat.

Always came across on TV as a down to earth sort of bloke, somebody you would be happy to met up for a drink with.

Since moving to Norfolk I have met somebody else who became quite well known and was very badly treated (Understatement) In my opinion.

I was at a local auction house the day before the event in a place called Wisbech and I was looking around further into the premisies when I heard these two men chatting. As one was walking away I approached the other and immediately regognised him from photos I had seen in the newspapers ( he really looks a lot younger and the newspapers gave him a lot of bad press)

I asked.......Excuse me, you ARE Tony Martin.....arn't you?

Yes, he was, and we had quite an interesting chat about the law and justice.
