Celebrity spotting in Hither Green

I always knew Hither Green was a secret hang out of the stars. I spotted Simon from the hit kids comedy duo "Trevor and Simon" getting off a train here the other day. I guess he must live here. Has anyone else spotted any famous faces?

Well I saw Gary Rhodes on the train from London Bridge and ok he didn't get off at HG but still......

And at the last Cinema Day I recognised an actor. Tall bearded bloke, Scottish I think. Been in a lot of dramas. Can't for the life of me remember his name.....

I was pretty sure I saw Idris Elba ( aka Stringer Bell from The Wire) on Hither Green Lane a few weeks ago. I thought however that it highly unlikely to be him but have since discovered that Idris is in fact a Londoner so may be I was right after all.

Completely irrelevant as I haven't seen any celebs in Hither Green (yet), but recently I have seen Mackenzie Crook in East Finchley, Minty from Eastenders and Alex Zane in Highgate, Ken Livingstone on the tube at Sloane Square, Gok Wan on Tottenham Court Road, Russell Brand in Camden...and in recent years I saw John Cleese on the tube, and Alastair McGowan testing sofas in Debenhams. Hoping to add some Hither Green celebs to my collection!

According to Wikipedia Idris Elba is also recording some songs at the moment. There are a number of record labels based on Hither Green Lane so maybe he's laying down some tracks here.

The actor at Brief Encounter at The Station Pub was Clive Russell and in his wikipedia entry it even mentions he lives in Hither Green!!

Surely when it comes to celebrity spotting/ 'The Station' pub then there really is only one man to mention...Peter Amory! The wheel chair bound baddie for over 5 years in itv's 'Emmerdale'. When he is necking a pint you can see him outside in aviator's smoking the occassional tab with a female companion.

Clive Russell does indeed live in Hither Green, on Manor Park. I lived next door to him until a few days ago. Top bloke, unless you happen to be drunkenly talking in your garden late at night...that annoys him
